ddxSuite System Requirements
The ddxSuite may be run as a stand-alone application, or as a networked application to allow various people in your organization to share documents. Don't be fooled by the light system requirements. The ddxSuite is capable of easily and quickly handling in excess of a million documents. It's efficiency is what makes the requirements so light.
ddxSuite – All products
- Operating System options include:
- Servers: Windows 2000 and 2003 (2003 recommended)
- Work-Stations: Windows Vista, XP Pro, 2000 Pro (XP Pro recommended)
- Hardware (Server and Client information) - PC Compatible
- Pentium 4, (2.0ghz or better recommended)
- 512mb Memory (1gb or more recommended)
- 30mb Disc Space minimum. For software installation only (Client requires 2-4mb)
- ddxArchive Users: Recommend starting with 40gb or more of available space.
- Our customers have experienced as many as 1 million documents stored in as little as 60gb
- A dedicated server is recommended
- Access to server for support and installation – Internet / VPN access required (dial-up connections may be arranged, but may result in additional costs)
- Backup device for server – your Server should be performing regular backups daily
- PC Anywhere, Control-IT, Remotely Possible or VNC – used for online Support (Citrix or Terminal Server alone is not sufficient)
ddxConnect
The following are requirements for ddxConnect (Fax, Email and Laser Forms) – all installed on the ddx Server.
- Fax Modem (1 per fax line)
- External Multitech model MT5634ZBA-v90 or v92 (Serial Connection) for Faxing (est $150) – see Multitech's web site for more information.
- Phone line – direct-dial out dedicated to each fax modem
- Email – ddxConnect requires an open connection to an SMTP server for outgoing email. All attendant security must be pre-enabled to accommodate the use of this server by the ddx server
- File Transport: ddxConnect requires an available connection to your host system to transport files
- A network connection between the ddx Server and your host system
- Host Login and password that has read/delete privileges
- A Common Directory, where documents to be transported are placed (login defaults to this directory)
- Unix & Alpha Hosts – FTP access is required
- Windows 2000 or 2003 Server Hosts – network disc access
- Standard Windows Printer (laser or inkjet) is installed and accessible from the ddx Server
ddxArchive
The Archive Database and the Archive Loader reside on the ddx Server (described above).
- Clients require:
- UNC or Named-drive network connection to the ddx Server
- An Email client, such as Outlook (if they wish to email documents from the Doc Viewer)
- ddxDesktop Fax if users wish to fax from PC Applications or from ddxArchive Doc Viewer
- Server requires named UNC or drive access to/from other ddx products (preferred on the same server)
- Enterprise Edition / Database Server: required with 5 or more concurrent Viewer License
