Dash releases jetStream mfg™ - Simplifies Lean Manufacturing Management
SUSSEX, WI - June 5, 2003 — Dash, Inc., announces the release of jetStream
mfg™, a new software package for the stremlined management of manufacturing.
The package addresses the needs of lean manufacturing and rapid turn-around
environments.
jetStream mfg™ boasts a robust set of highly visual tools to simplify
manufacturing process management. Production plans can be developed as
easily as “dragging” an order to the appropriate resource.
Visual alarms make it easy for users can monitor status and exceptions
with a minimum of effort.
According to James Van Hecke, Dash president, “jetStream is at
the core of a new, simplified, and intuitive way to manage the manufacturing
process. It is simple, understandable, and easy?to?use, involving a refreshingly
short learning curve.”
The new package easily “attaches” to an in-place Business
or Enterprise system with real?time integration to and from that system,
taking an event-based approach to facilitate true demand-driven manufacturing
techniques. From the front office to Planning to the shop floor, everyone
is in sync with updates provided instantaneously.
When coupled with Dash’s ddxSuite of Document Management products, relevant documents, prints, and work instructions are instantly linked and accessible where and when they are needed. This easily addresses ISO document control compliance throughout the entire organization.
The event-based package recognizes normal business events, such as the receipt of an order — any order — or new requirement. Such occurrences trigger the appropriate action — notifying Production of the new task as soon as the order is taken, or reporting of a status change of something already in the system.
Production Planners use an intuitive “workbench.” If the need to change the plan should arise, just drag any task to any resource or point in time. It is that simple.
Visual alarms make it easy to see up-to-the-minute status, and where adjustments need to be made. Late tasks show up in red, for example. Tasks that are on time would appear in another color of the user’s choosing.
On the manufacturing floor, the jetStream Work Board gives the shop personnel the three fundamental things they need: 1) shows the plan, 2) shows the documentation relevant to the task at hand, and 3) immediately reports all progress back to the host system and to all other jetStream users.
“Businesses want to focus on those things that add value. jetStream’s focused and simplified approach allows them to do just that.” Van Hecke added.
