Dash announces ddxPort Form Recognition for Document Management
Sussex, WI June 1, 2005 — Document Management Software developer Dash announces a new development effort called ddxPort Form Recognition technology for it’s ddxSuite™ Document Management software. ddxPort is an integration tool that seamlessly, and non-invasively facilitates integration with other software. This creates a “port” for document delivery and archival, that integrates the ddxSuite with ERP or other systems without modification to those systems.
Users will be able to create maps of structured documents, like Invoices or ISO documents, then simply print the documents using Dash’s virtual printer. Based on user-defined rules, these documents, and selected attachments will be automatically delivered to the appropriate parties, by Fax, email or laser-form, and archived in Dash’s ddxArchive document management system.
The user can define the location of information used to dynamically create delivery rules. This information may be located on the document itself, or inside a database. This flexibility allows, for example, a customer name to be retrieved from an SQL Server and the invoice number to be gathered from the Invoice print-out itself – all automatically.
The ddxSuite’s hands-off, automated delivery capabilities let the user send business documents directly from ERP Systems. Documents like Purchase Orders, Invoices and more are faxed and/or emailed to the recipient simply by printing them. These documents can also be delivered with relevant attachments, like CAD Drawings. This is accomplished without any modification to the ERP system. The ddxSuite may also operate as a stand-alone system for archiving any type of structured document.
“ddxPort technology will be the cornerstone of future integration efforts. It gives users a great opportunity to improve their bottom line results by handling their internal and external information flow more effectively. It’s as easy as printing a document.” said Jim Van Hecke, Dash president. “This is part of Dash’s continuing effort to expand it’s offerings to a broad audience through it’s ddxPort™ Quick Link integration. ERP Software Vendors can also take advantage of the technology to easily offer extended Document Management functions without changing their own software.”
Dash plans a series of ddxPort™ Quick Link packages will be pre-integrated with various ERP systems to make implementation quick and easy. The first ERP system targeted for QuickLink is Syspro® ERP.
“ddxPort™ technology provides an easy path to integrating automated document delivery and document management for almost any structured document - without modification to the ERP system.” Said Van Hecke. “It helps reinforce the value of a customer’s investment in their current software by extending it’s capabilities.”
With the addition of the ddxPort™ Quick Link integration packages for it’s ddxSuite, Dash continues it aggressive strategy of offering seamless document management to small and medium sized businesses – as well as to ERP Software developers.
Planned for release in Q3 of 2005, the ddx / Syspro ddxPort Quick Link integration package will be available through Dash and select Dash Partners.
